LSI Logic Names Jeff Richardson Executive Vice President, Worldwide Strategic Planning

MILPITAS, Calif., June 13, 2005 - LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today named Jeff Richardson executive vice president, Worldwide Strategic Planning. Richardson will report to Abhi Talwalkar, LSI Logic president and chief executive officer.

Previously, Richardson was vice president of Intel Corporation's Digital Enterprise Group and general manager of Intel's Server Platform Group. He led the organization charged with developing, marketing and supporting Intel's server microprocessors, server chipsets, wired networking components, as well as the company's server OEM/channel board and systems business.

Earlier, Richardson was vice president and general manager of Intel's Enterprise Solutions and Services Division, focusing on server and workstation building blocks for enterprise computing.  The products supported by this division included boards, systems, software and enterprise management software sold through OEM and channel partners.

Richardson became Intel's director of Volume Server Development, Enterprise Platforms and Services Division in 1997. He first joined Intel in 1992 as a senior design engineer for the company's Servers Business Unit.

During his career, Richardson also served as a field applications engineer for Altera Corporation, a senior microprocessor design engineer for Chips and Technologies and as an ASIC design engineer for Amdahl Corporation.

Richardson received a bachelor's of science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1987.
