LSI Logic Selects Colliers ATREG to Represent the Sale of Gresham, Oregon Manufacturing Facility

World-Class 200mm Fab Available For Immediate Operations

 

MILPITAS, Calif., October 25, 2005  - LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today announced it has retained Colliers International Advanced Technology Real Estate Group (ATREG) to assist with the sale of its fully operational Gresham, Oregon semiconductor manufacturing facility equipped with advanced 200mm semiconductor-process tools. 

"This represents a rare opportunity for a semiconductor company to acquire one of the premier 200mm semiconductor fabs with a fully operational production line that is available on the global market today, said Stephen Rothrock, Colliers ATREG senior vice president and managing director.  LSI Logics Gresham manufacturing facility includes a highly skilled workforce, intellectual property and equipped cleanrooms that represents significant time-to-market and cost advantages for a producer seeking additional advanced fab capacity."

Completed in 1998, the SMIF ballroom design-based manufacturing facility and equipment set is currently in commercial production with products at the 130nm, 180nm and above technology nodes, and includes copper technology.  In addition, the campus contains a significant amount of office and support space.  The 80-acre site provides separate, secure and self-contained power, water and numerous amenities.  The campus allows flexibility for future growth and is fully permitted.

The fab is located near Interstate 84 in the Pacific Northwests Silicon Forest and benefits from the areas highly educated and trained employment base.  Technology neighbors include Intel, IDT, Microchip, WaferTech, Wacker/Siltronic, TriQuint, Maxim, SEH and many others.
