"We are committed to supporting the community and doing our part to provide assistance to the parents and students of Milpitas. It is vital for the continued well-being of the community to ensure that the students of Milpitas receive a quality education and are prepared for workplace or college upon graduation."
Since 1991, the LSI Logic Classic Run has raised approximately $700,000 to maintain and enhance the quality of education, technology and extracurricular programs at schools throughout the district. The Milpitas Unified School District operates nine elementary schools (K-6), two junior high schools (7-8), and three high schools (9-12). The district has more than 430 teachers and serves more than 9,500 students.
"In the past few years school districts around the state have been asked to do more with less money," said Dr. Karl Black, superintendent, Milpitas Unified School District. "Partnerships with private industry, such as our longstanding relationship with LSI, enable the district to provide students with state-of-the-art technology, refurbish classrooms and prepare students for the twenty-first century workplace."
