LSI Logic Achieves McDATA OPENready Partner Status
- Interoperability qualification of LSI Logic's Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters and McDATA's Sphereon Fabric Switches provide OEM and channel customers with proven SAN solutions.
MILPITAS, Calif. July 13, 2005 LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) announced today that the company has achieved McDATA OPENready partner status, as the LSI Logic family of 2Gb/s Fibre Channel PCI-X host bus adapters (HBAs) have successfully completed testing and are now qualified for use with McDATAs SphereonTMFabric Switches.

McDATAs OPENready Interoperability Program lets SAN hardware and software vendors work with McDATA to create scalable, interoperable enterprise SAN products, services and solutions. The LSI Logic HBAs certified by McDATA include the single-channel LSI7102XP-LC, the dual-channel LSI7202XP-LC, and the quad-channel LSI7402XP-LC. These HBAs have proven interoperable with McDATA's Sphereon 4500, 4300 and 3232 Fabric Switches, allowing users of all sizes to reduce risk and time of SAN implementations.
McDATA's OPENready ecosystem of partners is strengthened with the inclusion of LSI Logic and their host bus adapter solutions, said Doug Ingraham, vice president of director platforms, McDATA. As McDATAs OPENready program is designed to give customers maximum flexibility in building proven, multi-vendor storage networks, the addition of LSI Logic host adapters to McDATAs OPENready family of qualified products enhances this flexibility.
The LSI Logic Fibre Channel family of 2Gb/s PCI-X HBAs are built with the Fusion-MPTTMarchitecture, providing complete and robust OS driver support, including Windows, Linux, Solaris, Netware and more. Each HBA features 133MHz PCI-X host connects to deliver optimal SAN performance. LSI Logic's PCI-X Fibre Channel HBAs are packaged with the company's MyStorageTMmanagement software, which provides HBA monitoring, load balancing and path failover protection. With MyStorage, IT managers can control and configure any LSI Logic HBA in their SAN network in just three mouse clicks. LSI Logic supplies channel partners with kitted Fibre Channel products that include cables.
